Bad parts on the floor as well. The need a real PG, a floor general to create. Until then they need to make use of their size. Pick and roll would be unstoppable with Melo and Amare or Chandler.

I told everyone three things.
1.They gave up too much for him. Gutted a whole team who were already competitive.
2.The combo of Melo and Amare was not good.
3.Felton was not a bum, he played his part well and would be missed.

Too many jump shots for Amare. He is no good with out a PG. They should have atleast entertained the thought of trading him for Superman before they picked up Chandler.

Absolutely. With Nash and Felton, Amare was a beast! And imo he and Carmelo don't work well togethe, yetr. Amare hasn't been the same since the trade for 'Melo and loss of Felton. I think Billips would have made a difference if he was't hurt last season, and Shumpert is green who needs a mentor. However, with the talent they have in place now most of the blame falls on D'Antoni.

You have to be good defensively to go anywhere in the west too. Look at the last few Western Conference champs. All good defensive teams. Speaking of which since 99' the West champs have been Lakers 5 times, Spurs 4 and Mavs 2. That's pretty crazy.
