“Right place, right time.” It's an old cliché, but it's one that has defined Dennis Ferrer's musical career. Just as the dance music world was heading into the world of afro-centric house, Ferrer was there. When it began to embrace the mix of tech and soul, Ferrer was there again, leading the way with his impeccable productions. As Ferrer goes, it seems, so does electronic music. As someone who's never content to do the same thing twice, it's clear that he'll be staying on top for years to come.

The last two years have been absolutely massive for Dennis Ferrer with a Grammy Nomination for his remix of Dido’s “Don’t Believe in Love”, as well as nominations for “Best House Artist” and “Best House Track” for “Hey Hey” at the Beatport Music Awards. Dennis also won “Best Deep House Artist” at the 2009 BMA’s and took home the International Dance Music Award for “Best Underground Track - Hey Hey”. Along with these accolades, DF has received worldwide acclaim from the press and house music enthusiasts alike. The musical integrity of Dennis Ferrer is unquestionable. With a career that spans over a decade and an immaculate discography that strikes fear in the hearts of his contemporaries, his modus operandi is quality over quantity, motivated by the desire to evolve with each new piece of music he creates. As always with Ferrer, the best is yet to come. With a deep knowledge of the past and a constant push for the future, Ferrer remains one of the true greats of house music - a leader and innovator who enjoys the buzz around him but continues to push the limits.

Dennis Ferrer always brings down the house when he visits Toronto and his last two visits were no exception. The closing party for Sunnyside Pavilion on Labor Day Long Weekend 2010 was nothing short of spectacular with over 2300 house music lovers dancing under the moon and stars until the wee hours of the night. His most recent visit to Toronto was at Maison on February 11, 2011, and featured the worldwide debut of his Objektivity label DJ collective, Neuwave Renegades – Dennis Ferrer, The Martinez Brothers and Filsonik. Dennis and his crew tore the roof off Maison that night with back to back sets powered by Funktion One Sound. EPIC!
