    Movement 2012 News

Phase One of this year's lineup is out and it looks like a good one. The headliners are Public Enemy on Saturday, Lil Louis on Sunday, and Jeff Mills on Monday. Here's the first set of names from Resident Advisor:

    http://www.residentadvisor.net/news.aspx?id=15834

Lil Louis, Public Enemy, The Wizard aka Jeff Mills, Brenmar, Busy P, Carl Craig, Carlo Lio, Cassy, Claude, VonStroke, Damian Lazarus, Danny Daze, Davide Squillace, Derrick Carter, DJ Sneak, dOP, Droog, Earl Mixxin Mckinney, Eddie Fowlkes, Greg Wilson, Ian Pooley, Jay Haze, Josh Wink, Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, Keys N Krates, Kyle Hall b2b Jay Daniels, Lindstrom, Loco Dice, Maceo Plex, Major Lazer, Mathew Jonson, Marco Carola, Mark Farina (Mushroom Jazz set), Maya Jane Coles, Michael Mayer, Mike Huckaby, Monty Luke, Mr. Oizo, Nadastrom, Nina Kraviz, No Regular Play, Radio Slave, Rick Wilhite, Roni Size, Salva, Slow Hands, Stacey Pullen, Steve Bug, Subb-an, Tale Of Us, The Martinez Brothers, Todd Terje, Wolf + Lamb

From these set of names it looks more inclusive of EDM styles than in previous years. I may have to attend this year.

    Not a bad teaser line-up!

The lineup is better than I thought it would be. That's nice to see!

    1) Derek Plaslaiko / BMG (aka Ectomorph) / Mike Servito / Erika / Spinoza - http://www.detroitluv.com/index.php?topic=63785.0
    2) Chez Damier / Keith Worthy / Fred P. / Luke Hess / Trinidadian Deep / etc. - http://www.detroitluv.com/index.php?topic=63815.0

    And this is on Monday:

*There are a bunch more events going on, but no site has them all listed and you almost have to hear about some of them via word of mouth.

Kai's party is always a must go for me although the Lil' Louis one looks good, Deep Detroit is a guarantee, plus it is a block away from my hotel.

I always have a rule when in Detroit, I don't go to the non-Detroit parties. Party #1 is a Bunker party and I like those guys and enjoy that party but I could see most of that line-up any time I want to. I just saw Derek spin two weeks ago (I enjoyed his set). I am leaning toward Party #2.

I haven't really planned for Monday yet so that is a possibility.

Friday night I'm leaning toward attending Prelude at TV Bar with Glenn Underground, Boo Williams, Norm Talley, Delano Smith, Bruce Bailey, and more. http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?361173 Although I heard that Carl Craig is spinning a 6 hour set somewhere as well so I might check that one out at some point as well.

Yeah, I figured that you'd be quite familiar with that lineup. But ask anyone in Detroit and they'd say this was a Detroit party (with the notable exception of Spinoza)! Ha ha

Yes it is, although it will be interesting if my friends follow the Omar S hype.
