Who was that that told us about V-Moda M80's?

I remember somebody here mentioning that V-Moda M80's were the shit. Well, they were right. Best DJ headphones ever, best iPod/iPhone headphones ever. Audiophile/movie listening I think I'll still take Ultrasone Pros, but right-out-the-box-before-even-breaking-them-in they're not only louder than Beats Studios but they have better stereo imaging. Bass not quite as heavy BUT at full volume they don't distort like the Beats.

Which Ultrasone Pro model? I have been trying to find a nice set of cans for listening to music when I fly. So far I've tried the B&W P5 (excellent build quality, best isolation of any I've tried, don't distort at all, volume not what I was looking for, can sound muddy), Klipsche Image one (decent volume, sound ok, where's the bass?), Sennheiser HD 280 (meh... all around), Skull Candy Roc Nation (Best sound of the lot, volume fine, no isolation whatsoever). If you could combine the sound of the Skull Candy with the build quality and isolation of the B&W that would be perfect IMO. BTW Beats are all trash. The only decent sounding ones are $400 and they have shit build quality.

No, I was just commenting on Beats because it was mentioned in some of the other posts. Different company.

I have Ultrasone 2400's. they're not loud enough for iPod/Phone/portable listening, you'll need a good headphone amp to drive them, and I'd suggest something with tubes for warmth. The 2400's sound so good though that you'll think you're hearing stuff outside the headphones. No isolation on the 2400's though; they're open back. I've heard everything you've mentioned except the B&W's, and they all suck. I would strongly suggest the the M80's if you want flight headphones. They're like Beats without the muddy. Loudest headphones out too, so you may want to turn down the volume although they don't distort.

Where can I pick them up? I'm only seeing them at Amazon. I'd rather purchase them locally so I can return them (without a hassle) if I don't dig them.

Has anyone seen the special edition V-80? They are M-80s with the True Blood logo, the carrying case has a fake vial of blood on the zipper.

I got mine for under $200, postage included from Amazon. Yep, just checked, $174, and that was for the V-80 special editions.
