    Shadow nightclub in trouble

I know its been around a long time, ive only been one time (danny krivit) not for the normal parties, seems like because of its longevity it hasnt been such a big deal but looks like neighbors want it shut down.

Adult R&B always seems to do well and they drink. Problem is yesterday's thugs are today's adults and they brought their ghetto ways along with them

Mike, unfortunately that was probably about a year or two before I started clubbing. In fact, around 1985 is when I started going to those bangin' FIT parties. As always, thanks for the info.

You may be talking about that same club that was renamed octagon in the early to mid nineties. Had many nights falling out of that club.

I went to Lovelite quite a few times. It was a nice spot. Would stop on my way in and check hookers waxing love muscles in hoopties. Thats the first spot that I saw Ten City perform at. Addtionally, Nick Jones, who is one of this areas best djs spun there.

I used to love the Octagon back in those days! I loved the way the shape of the place added even more flava to everything.
You'll have to excuse me. I'm the product of a broken disco.

Love lite was down the block from Octagon. I remember spinning one night and seeing Buddy come in with a trench coat and speedos. We didn't know each other then but soon would through LB Bad. They had Thorens in there. Very nice
spot with a nice system, but Leroy didn't really keep up with things clubs need done. Like fixing woofer cones.

    Side note:
It was fun watching the hookers and johns on that block.

Plato's Retreat was a swingers club that got shut down during the AIDS explosion. Wow Mike. Hard to believe you never heard Nick. He is one of the best to ever grace the decks. You never frequented the Wild Pitch parties?

Timmy, No, I've never been to the Wild Pitch throwdowns in New York City during the 80's and 90's, Because i was hanging at spots in New Jersey(Zanzibar, Club 88, Bogies, Club America, Cosmos, Etc), So, I never had the opportunity to hang at those wild pitch throdowns during the 80's and 90's, My man, Timmy, I've never heard Camacho mix in a spot either, My man(Though, I remember cats giving Camacho the utmost of respect for rockin a spot during the 80's and 90's), My man.

Mike, Platos retreat was too rich for my blood. I was still in HS rocking the C1 bus pass. Fortunately, I had a lil part time job so I ended up at The Zoo in Times Square. The line was "Do you want to swing?". The women were swamprats but at that age I didn't care
