Sensational Songs that had everyone talking back in the day

Do you remember when that certain song dropped like a bomb? A song with appeal that spread like wildfire? It was played everywhere. The Clubs, radio, on your boombox, thejuekbox, your walkman. When your Elementary school had a party, you borrowed your mom or Dads 45. Songs Like:

When you can't see the angles no more, you're in trouble baby, you're in trouble. Carlito's Way

I could barely stand Country music. Yet, these songs still reached the mainstream in the 70s:

I have to mention "Got to Give it Up" by Marvin Gaye. Although I wasn't crazy about it, the world was seemingly. My cousin Adrien, an adult who had a powerful stereo and all the latest (albeit commercial) hits, I remember him saying to my mother that he was on his way to Metro Music to pick it up. Heard the baseline to that, and many others continuously, as he lived below us-LOL!

Hell, it's the only rap song that I can completely recite, too this day without fuggin up the lyrics.LOL

Earlier this week I was thinking of how this one was all over the airwaves and at the house parties when it came out.
