Keeping your ride looking tight during the warm months...............................

What kind of air freshener do you prefer?

What kind of tire treatment do you use?

I also like the gel form that you smooth on with a sponge. I found a applicator on Amazon.com that I plan to use in place of the average sponge.

I use Formula 2001 the interior and the areas around the exterior.

I just started trying some of the products by Meguiar's. Anybody use these products with success?

Is there a product that you have sworn by for years and it still gets the job done?

Not too many folks complain when they're washing the ride and when they have it looking just right.

Let's have some fun with this topic.

LA seems to be Meguiar's land. http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/home.do

QuikDetailer keeps the wax straight and is mist on/wipe off. http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/product_detail.do?q=4616

I like ArmorAll Tire Foam. 10m and you ridin' shiny. http://www.armorall.com/products/vie...?product_id=27

My latest ride has DuPont coating in the finish. Makes wax unnecessary. A quick wash and the two products above and I'm all good.

How good is the wash/wax combination?

What do you use to dry, rag or shammie?

    Air freshener - Black Ice

Tire treatment - Black Magic Tire Wet

Interior - Armor-All (regular, not hi-gloss ... damn thing will blind you)

Exterior - Turtle Wax Car Wash

Don't forget to wash the engine, too. No use having a shiny car with a dirty ass engine.

Air freshener -Yankee Candle Company Car Jar Leather - closest to the new car smell that i've come across.

Tire treatment - Eagle One Tire Shine - Water based tire shine. I don't like that super glossy look and this gives it a nice deep matte shine. Silicone based tire shines can discolor your tires or even cause cracking.

Exterior - Turtle Wax Car Wash and Eagle One All wheel cleaner -

Wax - Mequires Cleaner and Wax

In between waxings - Eagle One "Wax as u Dry" - Easiest way to keep the shine between waxings.

Always use a Chamois to dry your vehicle. Prevents those swirl marks that using towels makes.

Any special way you (or anybody else in this thread) clean your engine?

If you have the time it is good to do it yourself (much cheaper, too). You have to do it at a high pressure car wash bay. Turn off the engine, spray it down with a can of Gunk Engine Degreaser and let it sit for a minute or two. Afterwards, use the spray wand in either 'rinse' or 'wax' setting to hose down the engine to get rid of all the dirt and grime. When done, turn on the engine and let it "dry" for a minute or two. Finally, turn it off again and use a can of WD-40 or Liquid Wrench and spray the entire engine. Presto!

Be sure that you cover the essential electrical parts before you spray it with the engine degreaser (battery terminals, top of rotor, and alternator in particular). I usually use a plastic shopping bag to prevent water from getting in.

Most Meguiar's products seem like good stuff. Always shammies. This hard water we have here beads up and, if it dries, it's worse than if I didn't wash it at all.

I agree with MJ........ Doing it yourself is always better!! I wash my rides once sometimes twice a week depending on rain. $4 at the drive through car wash and spend 30min-45min on drying, detailing, and vacuuming. The time you put in may be a lot but the result is 10x better than the $20 you just wasted at the "wash" from being lazy. You always end up finding things to clean that they would normally over-look....

Items used to come out playa!!!!.........

Leather Chamois.... This really works the best when DIY!

    That Tire Wet!!!

I got a bone sponge from CVS for $2 that I use to apply the tire wet. It covers the entire outside surface of the tire. Just keep it in a box after you use it.

1 shamwow for the engine bay.......

    INTERIOR:

If you have wood trim or carbon fiber and or multi-material accents like I do...... Anti-static cloths work like a charm for interior cleaning. Baby wipes work well on the dash as well considering they are anti-static as too.

    Finally.......... Nuff said!!

    Galaxy rays; Powerful!!! =D

How do you keep your windows from getting streaks after cleaning with a paper towel?

That's probably the direction I go.
