This chase came right threw my block which is an average size one way street. People always say "like something out of a movie" this defiantly was!! The over whelming police response was crazy!! All you heard was sirens, roaring engines & helicopters!

And best believe if the cameras wasn't on they would've stomped his ass!!

Come to find out the dude pulled a gun out on the cops during a traffic stop after he blew a red light. Dude also has a lengthy rap sheet.
Reporters spoke to his parents and you know the rest.."he's a good boy".

The car he hit had a family of 3, the man on the passenger side died on impact. A 20yr old female & 4yr old boy are in critical condition.

Okay, so what are YOU going to do about this? Are you going to send a letter to Commissioner Ramsey asking to cease and desist with car chases? Are you going to wage a campaign and get at least 10,000 signatures to show him and Mayor Nutter you mean business? Are you going to contact Councilman Darrell Clarke (your councilperson) and/or At-Large Council Members (Kenney, Reynolds-Brown, Oh, Green, Greenlee, Goode, O'Brien) to discuss changing the laws and/or having your dismay with car chases placed as a referendum on a future ballot?

And regarding whether or not the perpetrator would have been stomped if there were no cameras, are you reminiscing about the Thomas Jones incident in July 2000?

Its hard for me to blame the police action. Man with a gun running from cops. The police can't just say "fuggit"

i can understand that, but we watched it. which means that the police watched it too. they didnt need to chase, they could have followed out of sight and taking control at his destination.

Hopefully, that destination isn't a school full of hostages. As you noted, he was being watched and probably knew that as helicopters tend to be loud

This car chase ended just like the 1,000,682 other car chases I've seen via the news/media.

it was from observing the video. at the 25 second mark 3 cruisers had ample time to close the loop. they let him slip right by.
