    a few years back NYU had a Sylvester retrospecive and showed all the old TV appearances from back then - they were on DINAH SHORE too, if you can believe it!

    He was seen as a novelty back then much like rupaul is seen now. It wasnt until the Living proof live album that people knew he was a force to be reckoned with.It was brilliant when you think about it, get the people to look first and then they will listen.

    I thought that during the disco era, the AB cameramen were a bit more suggestive than Soul Train, "going up the skirts". Y'all notice that?

    At any rate, I loved when Dick Clark sat with the kids, introducing the artist and pulling out the album cover!

    During the early 80s, that's the main reason I watched AB. Then it was on to the LA ladies over at Soul Train. LOL

    RIP Dick Clark! A bit of a legend that one... AB, Solid Gold dancers, Pyramid and Rockin' NYE... He certainly made his mark on this earth.




    I, for one though, am not surprised to hear Ryan Seacrest say he's loved "Dick" since he was a teen.
