It was great to see Hector(1:50 mark)...

This is the where the Coney Island Boardwalk parties came from...there may have been a few others before it at other areas of the boardwalk, but the Colony is where it really jumped off from and what put Coney Island on the map for "coney Island parties".

Coney Island during the early 70's for a few was the haunted House that featured stickup kids from East New York(Stinging cats for their's while the ride was in motion too), My man/LOL.

I've never even heard of Count-JC, so I need to confer with my CI peeps, but the Marbury clan is from Odwyer Gardens on Surf Ave around 35th street. There were alot of DJ/MC crews that were rocking at P.S.288 and Kaiser Park.

Well as Al King being the top player in the country in 1977 over Magic Johnson(Who was the 3rd best HS player in the country in 1977, My man), Pete, The rest of the cats who made 1st-team All-City(PSAL), In 1977 with Al King, We're, Artie Green/Taft(Rip), Mike Edwards/Clinton, Kenny Page/McKee HS in Staten Island, My man, Pete, The New York HS basketball circuit was mad tough during the 70's(Especially in Brooklyn and the Bronx, My man/LOL), Pete, Rolando Blackman

Mike, thanks for this. I'd forgotten that we'd corresponded so much on that thread. He was genuine with his offer about riding the bumper cars for free- I was up in there a couple of times! Gone too soon.

Anyway, CI boardwalk parties haven't been the same with the 8pm shutdowns and now I hear that there are fewer dates available out there.

    Always remember:

if you build it, they will come...

If you stay true to what you build, they will stay...

If you allow folks to come in and tear it down, they will find someplace else to go....

this sums up Coney Island Boardwalk parties (sigh).

Ras, Cats we're most definitely building with mad information on that thread from 2008, Featuring, You're man Scott Finlan from Coney Island, My man, Ray, The Very first throwdown that i ever attended was at Moringside Park(The part of the park located right by the basketball courts on 123rdst and Moringside Drive in Harlem), Ray, Hollywood was rockin at Moringside Park during the summer of 1974(After a basketball tournament game called, 'People's Park), Ray, Hollywood was

Not known for rockin in the parks for free during the 70's/LOL, Though, Hollywood was watching the basketball games at Moringside Park and a few cats who we're setting they're power up, Asked Hollywood to rock the mic and mix too(Sometimes at the same time too, My man/LOL), Ray, Mount Morris Ppark(130thst and 5thave in harlem), Was another spot that used to rock dance music throwdowns during the early 70's to late 70's, Featuring, Cats like Pete Dj Jones,

Flowers, Along with a few local cats(Dj's), From uptown/Harlem too, My man, Ray, The Entertainers basketball tournament was founded by Greg-G(Greg Marius from the Disco 4 from uptown, During the late 70's to mid 80's), Ray, Greg-G started the Entertainers basketball tournament at Mount Morris Park in 1984, Infact, Dominique Wilkens was one of the judges for a dunk contest at the Entertainers Basketball tournament during the summer of 1985 at Mount Morris Park(Dominique

Wilkens was down with Brooks Sneakers, Who connected with Greg-G to get Dominique Wilkens be one of the judges for the dunk conest at the Entertainers basketball tournament at Mount Morris Park during the summer of 1985, My man, Ray, Moringside Park was the location for a few scenes in the movie, ''New Jack City', From 1990, Along with Moringside Park being the location for a few scenes for the video, 'Self Destruction', In 1989, Which was directed by Lionel Martin(The Vid-Kid from Video Music Box, My man).
