Very great movie, i think HULK stole the show i hope some of ya know that theres 2 extra scenes one midway through the credits and the other at the very end of the credits. I think most movies suck in 3d if its not animation.

I skimmed through Ebert's review and I've chosen to avoid all others until after I've seen it. My guess is folks who aren't of a certain age or demographic won't be able to relate. Awesome or wanting, the Avengers on screen is not insignificant.

Fans of action flicks typically disregard Ebert because of his 'high standards' when he rips on their favorites but the fact that he blessed the Avengers with a 3 star rating, wow!

If you mean the Ed Norton Hulk flick, I agree. Dope film.

Isn't it the norm to stick around til the lights come on in the theater after a Marvel Comics flick by now?

Nope, didn't notice the 3D at all, my friends and I all agreed the 3D sucked and personally I can do without the experience, it's more a distraction than lending anything to the experience or story.

Just saw it, and I'm coming back in the morning to see it again with someone who didn't grow up attached to these characters and concepts. I just wanted to revel in it and drink it all in. Without, say, Rom, or my late brother John - who gave me my love for comics - it was best for me to just sip it slowly by myself. In fact, I'm posting this from the theater while waiting for the credits to end.

I'll save my tears for the car ride home. All it did was compel me to miss my youth and my friends and brothers...and all those boxes of fantasy that are now gone.

I loved it. I'll see it every other day until I'm broke. Then I'll steal money to see it again.

Oh, and Myron - I found Justice League: Doom to be top notch! Watched it twice. Very well paced and did a lot with the relationship subtext between the characters. The rest of the story was superfluous to me. Overall, the dynamic between the members was pitch perfect, especially Batman and his motivation and leanings.

As no one mentioned that you forgot the three Punisher films, I'm confiscating slide rules and retainers from all you nerds. And yes, the lunch money too!

Now when are they gonna make movies out of Deathlok the Demolisher and Shang Chi Master of Kung Fu (the Moench/gulacy years provide great storylines)

    You geeks!

That seems to be the consensus about that film. I have yet to see it but I should be checking it out soon.

Joss Whedon is the man. Had his signature humor (ala Buffy, Angel, Firefly) laced throughout the movie. Not a dull moment. My only real complaint with the movie was the makeup of the team. I'd rather have seen Giant Man/Antman and Wasp than Hawkeye and Black Widow (Was she ever an Avenger?).

    From Wikapedia:

The Black Widow's first appearances were as a recurring, non-costumed, Soviet-spyantagonist in the feature "Iron Man", beginning in Tales of Suspense No. 52 (April 1964). Five issues later, she recruited the besotted costumed archer and later superhero Hawkeye to her cause. Her government later supplied her with her first Black Widow costume and high-tech weaponry, but she eventually defected to the United States after appearing, temporarily brainwashed against the U.S., in the superhero-team series The Avengers No. 29 (July 1966). The Widow later became a recurring ally of the team before officially becoming its sixteenth member.

Thanks bro. When I was younger and read the Avengers religiously she was never part of those teams. She was heavy in the Daredevil and Spiderman books I was reading but I don't recall her in any Avengers books.

A lot of these movies really brings us back to our youthful days.

Comic books and adventure cartoons made up a great deal of our youth.

I remember the threats from momma, "gonna take them damn funny books from you if you can't get your act together"!

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned how cold the first two Blade movies were for Marvel. I kinda dug the TV series, sad that it was cut short after one season!!

Is it me or does Thor appear less formidable in this film and his previous debut? Him being my all time favorite-just sayin.

How so? Cause he got whooped by the Hulk? Hulk is more powerful (and my all time favorite).

Chicago movie goers, if you like crying infants sitting behind you, overweight folks that keep getting up to get by, constant audience chatter, rude security folks rushing you out of the theater while the credits are still rolling, then by all means, do go and see this film at Chatham 87th. LOL

It's cool, though. I took the kids this round. Will go back and see this bitch, VIP in 3D. Great film, BTW!
