    hotels in chicago

hey, looking into hotels for CFP weekend and want to know about some neighborhoods. - is dearborn park a fun neighborhood? what other areas should we explore? we stayed in the fairmont last year by millenium park and that was nice but hoping for something cheaper and in a more funky neighborhood/area if possible.

Is that south loop hotel near other kinds of stuff, like a walk able area with restaurants and stuff?

Area may be a little too funky for you, but a little cheaper than Fairmont, site of the Picnic after party (Saturday) and close to the Shrine (Thursday and Sunday parties). Plus, a lot of out of town CFP guests will be here.

The Chosen Few DJs are pleased to announce that our official hotel partner for the 2012 is the Chicago South Loop Hotel. The South Loop Hotel is now offering a special Chosen Few Picnic rate of $119 per night for July 5 through July 8 2012. Make your reservations today by calling the South Loop Hotel Reservations Department at 312-225-7000 and make sure to ask for the special Chosen Few Picnic rate. Make the weekend extra special with an affordable stay at the South Loop Hotel!

Plus, contrary to popular belief, there are a lot of great sites and funky neighborhoods to see on the south side, including Hyde Park/Kenwood...you know, where the President lives.

Done - for some reason I thought it was close to the picnic but nothing else - if it's also close to the clubs, deal. Booking Thr room now! Thanks for your help, I'm just not that familiar with Chicago - and while millennium was nice it reminded me of our convention center area....nice enough but more for tourists.

Thanks again so much for all the organizing - so appreciated! We get in noon Friday and staying through Monday around dinner time!! Vacation!

It's actually a pretty nice newer hotel just a few blocks away (directly south) from where the South Loop currently ends.....JMJ
