Creflo Dollar arrested for assaulting his daughter.......

    1. I have to ask parents of teenagers (or people who have parented teenagers).......

What do you do in a situation like this, if a teen is so bent on doing what he/she wants,
or is in in straight up-rebellion mode? How do you/how did y'all handle it?

    Flip side.....

    2. Did anyone feel, when you were teens, that your parents were unreasonable and never
understood where you came from? Do you, as an adult, still feel this way about your upbringing
or did that mindset change for whatever reason (e.g.: found out mom was right or became a parent)?

15's an iffy age. Growing up in my household, my moms kicked anybody who acted fool, out on their ass at 16 and up. LOL . If you were too old to receive physical punishment, yet too 'grown' for your own good, 'you gots to go'. My sisters raised their kids the same way- all their kids all bolted the nest by 17. I'm trying hard as I can to instill respect for the home, in my young kids so we don't go that route.

My son will be turning 17 this year, so I guess I'm qualified.

1.) One can try talking to their child in a less emotional way (and after a cooling down period so nobody flies off the handle). Of course, a person that is hell-bent on doing what they want would be quite a bit less likely to listen to reasoning. If they left the house over the parent's wishes, then maybe the local police could be called if it's after curfew. Another option would be to go to this party to retrieve the child. No kid wants to see their parent/parents show up at a peer event. The embarrassment alone might be enough to keep the child from doing that again (if they believe that the parents will show up each and every time).

Regardless of what one could do, one thing they should never do is what Mr. Dollar (I can't believe that I typed that) did: choked her; threw her to the ground; punched her; hit her with any object (and shoe in this case).

2.) Yes, my parents were unreasonable and never understood me. They still don't and I have never forgotten or forgiven. It has caused me to do a full 180 in regards to the parenting style that I was exposed to (most people just blindly do what their parents did without forethought). I will not repeat what they did to me with my own son.

you know I read this and thought...this is ridiculous......my parents whipped me until i got to be a certain age maybe 13 or 14) and then as long as I stayed resectful there was never a problem....with my son, who is 17 now, we had a few issues when he hit his teens and had 2 fights...the first hurt me so bad I cried that it even went there...he was going through "smelling himself" as my dad called it. sorry got to go will finish this later

It is very unfortunate that things went as far as they did!

    Ahhhh... thanks!

I was totally stumped as to what it could be. I actually considered the option that he was smelling his armpits! LOL

You better raise your kids and not worry about getting arrested. Creflo handled his as best he could. He'll get out. And his kids will know better.

Cops coming to the house is the folks next door raising your kids. Better raise your own fuckin' kids. Or be prepared to attend their trials and funerals. Cops won't help you with that, thus you better not care what happens when they're called for you doing what you're inspired to do. Those fuckers have no problems SHOOTING black children who haven't been raised by the Creflos of the world, now do they?

My eldest is 24. My youngest is 18. I have you assholes beat by three adult children and two grandchildren. I know of what I speak. Fuck the cops.

what do you make of the older sister? first she covers up then she flips right on the spot, unreal, at that point it wasn't even about protecting her sister from her dad but protecting her father from a georgia cop and she got it wrong
