What's a really "good" video splitting software?

That allows you to easily cut, edit and combine from various formats (avi, wmv,mp4 ect) into one video?

looks impressive and complicated.. was wondering if there was something easier like a "Soundforge" for video where you can quickly cut from various formats and drop to make 1 video.

Well, you should be able to just add files to a timeline one behind the other. It will all play as one video file. The other good thing about this software is it automatically separates the audio and video files for easy editing. It's not as complicated as it appears.

And in my experience the quality with Ableton is god awful. There aren't many options for video, because you have to factor that each of your videos you want to compile will be different formats, bitrates, compressions, etc. Dont expect much out of the final product unless you have control over the source material's quality.

It's not for broadcast or anything. It's the go to for video dj's doing edits. Sounded like that was sort of what he might be using it for.
