    The Amazing Spiderman

Had a better overall feel than the Tobie Mcguire/Sam Raimi ones, but I felt the story was a bit weak, and the Lizard was no Green Goblin as far as villains go. More faithful to the comic though.

    What i posted on facebook:

Amazing Spiderman = thumbs up. I'm probably going to be in the minority of people who liked this one better than the original. Better cast (with exception of Willam DeFoe), closer to the books, less cartoonie and much better effects. Don't waste your money on the 3D as it was barely used, and badly at that.

Just got back from seeing this. Minus the Origin Story, it felt like Spiderman 4. What I did enjoy about the film was the use of "less is more".

I'm not a comic book fan and I do not know a lot about the various stories of Spiderman, but the first three films had 3000 story lines crammed into one gob of a mess, especially with Spiderman 3. This new approach to the film was much better.

The cheesiness is still there but there were some scenes that I really enjoyed, but all of a sudden, back to the cheese.

This film isn't the Batman of the 90s/Batman of the 2000s type of reboot, and this is where the film IMO suffers, because the overall atmosphere of the film was already done with the first 3 . That's not to say I was expecting a Christopher Nolan'esc type of film, but I was hoping to be wowed out of my seat.

My son told me as we were walking out that they showed too many scenes in the commercials, and I have to agree.

saw it saturday. man, i wanted it to be over.
    sorry, but it lacked something.

Maybe the darker super hero style films have impaired my judgement.
I will say that it is very kid friendly and that's what was making me not get into it.
    yay!

Saw it and didnt like it. I think the main reason is to somehow eventually tie it to the avengers. The post credits i think has to be either Mysterio or possibly even Norman Osborn/Green Goblin or somehow make it into Hobgoblin. Also forgot to mention that Peter Parker in the comics (regular and ultimate universe) and previous movies is a geek/wise ass while in this new film i got the impression of an emo/hipster asshole.

The new Spider-Man film... "Hated It!" Two thumbs down and stick it in your ass! Story was super weak, the guy who played Parker wasn't convincing to me. The one thing that did stand out was his knowledge of science and the creation of the web-shooters. That was the best part and the fact that they added Gwen Stacey in the movie, other than that.. Not pleased with this one.. Slightly better than Spider-Man 3!

For those that know what FOOM means, this version is the most faithful to the spirit of the comic book, IMO

I give it 4 out of 5 stars

Flash Thompson! I haven't read that name in forever. A great memory

Just went to go see Spiderman today, and the storyline lacked the energy from the previous run. I hope they go back to the drawing board with this!
