How to find a vocalist for a new project?

I'm planning to produce some cool deep/soulful house tracks but I can't sign people such as Barbara Tucker for obvious reasons.

Plus, I live in Italy, and frankly it's quite hard to find a singer with a soulful, deep and lushy voice. Those few are more jazz orientated and pretty snob for accepting to produce house music.

Do you know there are any good place where to find on the net (except Soundcloud I already know) something like this?

How do you usually find a good vocalist for your tunes?

Go to traxsource, listen to the music and make a note of all vocalists you like and see if you can find those people on Social Networks such as Facebook and Twitter. Contact them.

Don't ever feel small. I was shocked one day sending a message to a top vocalist just to know how much they charge to drop a vocal on a tune. And she asked me to send her the beat, I did and she loved it and said she wont charge me... we'll start working on the project from November this year!

Just try your luck, if it's Barbara Tucker you want go find her on Facebook chat with her a bit, get to know her. After a while tell her your story, that you would like to work with her. And hear what she says, instead of thinking what she might say.

I would advise you to connect with these top vocalists and build good relationships with them. Once they are friends with you they'll feel bad if they charge you a lot of cash, they might even do it for free as a friend!

    Nothing beats trying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
