    ... I got all excited seeing this - buzzed my peeps in Montreal to investigate tickets, and was about to make some travel plans for the morning ... until 1 of them just got back to me, and said "It's in Switzerland ... trust, I wouldn't have missed this if it was here"

    I went to the Montreux Jazz Festival about ten years ago. It was amazing. Such a stunning location on Lake Geneva.

    I was there for a weekend. I saw the Roots, the Crusaders with Randy Crawford (who I met at a cafe and had a nice chat with), Van Morrison... Plus the after hours club was great... Jazzanova, Keb Darge...

    I expected it to be full of silver foxes wiggling out to jazz, but it was really young and vibrant.

    Plus we had a heat wave, crazy heat... Which culminated in the most epic of thunderstorms on the Sunday. I remember sitting on the roof of the hotel about 3am as bolts of lightning crashed down around us... One striking a nearby tree and setting it on fire. It was amazing! This heightened the drugs somewhat!

    Looking at that line up... I need to return. Definitely in my diary for next year!

    I forgot how good it was. Certainly recommended!
