Alicia Keys to attend Obama women's event here

The singer Alicia Keys is lending her star power to an Obama campaign women's issues summit on Monday in Center City, joining Democratic National Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz and strategist Valerie Jarrett.

It is the second in a series of planned summits designed to mobilize women to support President Obama in the election; the first was held July 1 in Denver. Campaign officials said the women will lead a town hall-style discussion of topics ranging from the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act to education and abortion rights.

The event, at the Convention Center, is free and open to the public, the campaign said. Doors open at 5 p.m.
