Unhappy My Question For the Day!?

So I have been in this thing called Underground House House for a long time!
I have done my fair share of parties here and there. I have danced in places that weren't suitable to dance in but I danced damnit!

I have the pleasure of knowing some wonderful hot dj's and have listened to many of tracks.

But my burning Question is this:

WHEN DID IT BECOME THE HOT THING FOR DJ'S TO PLAY TAG? YOU PLAY THREE I PLAY THREE?

Can you just play the damn music!

Is playing a set a thing of the past because I don't like it!

I wanna hear what your working with geesh!

    Is it me!?

    Sweeti

I, too, have 'barn danced' with the best of them. Anything under an hour for a DJ is unacceptable, IMO.

(Where ya been? You don't have to answer that if you don't want to. Hope you are well.)
Dance as if nobody's watching you...and if they are...so what?

Hey sunshine! Laying low lol! As you know got married 5 years and just adjusting. My mom passed last year so I'm still trying to work through that!

Getting out slowly - very slowly! Feel like a newbie when I do go out I will say that!

But please put in your calendar I am having a 45th yes 45th bday party 10/20 here in Newark so I would love for you all to come hang out with me.

    How you been sunshine?

Since they saw the guys doing it at B&S. I personally dont like it. I'd rather play an entire night myself.....also alot of jocks these days are only good for about 2hrs, after that they run out of music.
Ummm........I miss the days of DHP when we use to talk about Music, Partys and give reviews about House Music Events.......The Peanut Gallery dont fucked it up for all the posters

Usually this is done at the end of the party and can be an awesome experience for the party if the pairing is correct and if the djs actually "play together" and not try to out do the other, or drop some track crazy experimental track in just to fuck up the flow (hateration).

The end of the party tag teaming was done long before Body and Soul and I even remember us doing it at House Nation parties back in the '80s..

But, between me and you Sweeti, it didn't work yesterday at that event we both attended, and I guess this prompted your question of the day...hahahaha

tag teaming has always been the most fun, informal format for me and it's what i learned with doing... back in boston.. at house parties.. in sweaty basements.. with a keg in the corner.. and funky smoke in the air... friends just going back and forth, while people shoot the shit and dance if they want to. i'm all for not taking this too seriously... it's only dancing

Armento, as a dancer I want to hear the music! I don't want to hear a snipit and then the next person gets on and boops up the blend of the next song and this after you were really feeling that song or the break hasn't even come on!

House party in your basement different atmosphere! A whole bunch of heads wanting to come and hear some music too dance consistently totally different.

I'm generally not a fan of tag teaming because as Ray said folks don't play together. The flow gets lost and it just devolves into 2 guys playing records.

    Sweet,

Just want to let you know I truly miss your Healing Session parties. I was jonesing today and decided to wear the tee shirt. All day long, "I heard music in the air" and felt at PEACE!

    Love you!

Not all Dj's can play back to back. If they know each others music and styles and are playing together as opposed against each other it can work very well.
