    Zipcar........

....anyone use Zipcar? I know folk who rave about its affordability and "free gas". Seems like the big rentals, like Hertz, now want to get into the Zipcar business!

I used Avis last year. But I used it while in suburban DC, and the gas charges added up!

I use it for getting equipment to gigs and running the occasional errand. Now that they started renting Ford F150 vans I will never again use Uhaul or any of the car rental companies. It’s cheaper, 100% less frustrating and more convenient.

When I lived in DC I would use ZIP. Loved it. Granted, I lived in the city, so I didn't need it all that much. Mostly, I would just want to go for a drive.

    me. i love it.

i'm interested in the new carshare that's in our area now, car2go - the minicars. they're more like the bikehshare we have, where you can pick the car up in one location and leave it anotoher. this seems way more convenient than zipcar, which is more for renting out for an hour or two and then you have to return it to it's original location
