As someone from the South, who is the only non-Republican/borderline Tea Party nutjob in my entire extended family, I generally agree with the author's summary about southern conservatives.
There's something about the article I don't like, but I can't put my finger on it just yet, but it was an interesting read nonetheless.
The ongoing culture war with "the Yankees" is (or at least was) a very real thing in the south when I lived there (15 yrs ago).
I'm tempted to post this on FB to piss off my family members on there but I think my pics posted from the Obama rally met my quota for this week, so maybe I'll wait until next week.
