There's an amazing Ron Hardy re-edit of Jungle DJ on one of his mixes. I've listened to the original over and over and I just cannot find the break that he uses for the re-edit...in fact I can hardly hear any evidence of Jungle DJ in the re-edit...so I wondered if there were two mixes of Jungle DJ released and whether Ron Hardy was using a different mix to re-edit.

    Any ideas?

i think the krikokos track that's usually used for re-editing purposes is 'life's a jungle' from the lp 'jungle dj & dirty kate'

That is one of the edits that is simular to the song Bra (the artist name escapes me right now) only a portion of that song is used to make a whole dance track.

I think that re-edit is my favourite Hardy re-edit. It sounds years ahead of its times. Ron Hardy was a genius.

I never had a copy of his edit, I had to do my own .

Frankie was the first person I heard play it and I tell you...hearing that song out of a Richard Long sound system....ooh you really had to be there.

When I think of days like that and look at Chicago now, I really want to just walk away and not look back.

hey Leonard..At least stay untill i've visited the city .. ;)

Did that Ron Hardy edit got actually pressed on wax ?
It's most defenitly a re-edit i would have like to see on those Ron Hardy Muzik Box compilations..

To Walter Merlin Jones :in the mix you sent me, did you put the original 'life is a dj' from the LP in it?

No, the edit was never pressed, to the best of my knowledge. Ron used to play edits off a reel. To refresh Leonard's fading memory, Cymande did Bra.....JMJ

If you're referring to the original white label Lost Records, that's no edit. It's Life Is A Jungle by Kikrokos. The edit was done with a small piece of that track.....JMJ

There is a blue comp on Lost records with the edit in question--can't say for sure who did it but I have heard rumors that a certain "late" dj from chicago that the old schoolers don't care to give any props to did it--his initials are DC and he used to work at imports where the guy that was putting them out(Lost Records) also worked.

Risque 3 has a lot of extras in it(drums, sensuous black woman snippets, etc.).

There was an edit of Bra that was pressed. On the flipside was an edit of Disco dub- For the love of money.

I did a remix of All I Do...It sucks to the point that I barely clame it as a piece of my work but, Part Sixx love's it to death! I mean he will play that if he plays nothing else.

My opion, It Sucks!!!!!!!! I never play it but he gets great response to it.

    </font>
I never notice that I do something that moves others. Like my record that comes out this month on Westbound. "All God's Children" was not my choice for my first release. Actually I thought it was a crappy track. But the guys at Westbound loved it! And it is being well recieved by the public. I guess as I get older I am learning to give myself a break and to build up more confidence in myself and my work. The sets IMO were really lame that I mixed live were god awful to me but those are the ones that I get a lot of props for. But I do hear what you are saying Leonard. And I do thank you for your kind words,Lyot. When I listen to a mix that I love on CD,sometimes I like to get in my car and turn it up and go driving on a lonely country road under the moon and the stars where there is nothing between me and the music exept the moonlight reflection on the open road and the light from my speedometer on the dash of my car. Peace.
