What type of music do they play here ?

They talk about Shelter and Body & Souls fierce musical vibe under the menu "about".

    Is it what they describe?

depends on the night. It's a lovely space with a great sound system. Francois K does his Deep Space parties on Mondays, usually the residents keep Friday & Saturday to themselves (the owner is DJ Nicolas Matar).

I like the spot a lot -- might eventually do something there, after all the hooplah dies down.

    No Lincoln they do not.

It was my understanding the owner/managment wanted a club with the 'Ibiza' sound and thought that would be a catchy thing for NY.

I dont know what Ibiza sound means but the music on Friday nights is more something I guess you might call progressive or 'tech' house. In other words, it aint house.

the club is owned by Nicholas Matar, who plays a lot in Ibiza. I was down there on a Friday a week ago. He was playing Cerca de Mi and related material. (Yes Jamie, it was deep house, not progressive. . .Nicholas IS a deep house DJ). Monique sang live...her hits "Pure," "We Had a Thing" and a new track.

Soundsystem is great. Decor is swanky but cool.

Unlike Body & Soul, though, this place is about $$$, not about the vibe. No seating except for bottle service, Lots of Prada-clad yuppies, etc.
