    Total Recall

A so-so action film. The only thing I dug was the futuristic scenes of everday life. But really, they shoulda left the original alone. Hell, I barely remember it, anyhow.

Better than the original. Serious sci-fi action flick. Visually awesome. Colin Ferrell was great in it.

Just one question about the future, as depicted in this film(not a spoiler!) Why would cars that hoover on air need roadways? weren't roads designed for wheels? Sorry, I couldn't get past that concept, while sitting in the theater. LOL

I'm not a Collin Ferrell fan but I want to see it. Trailers look good. It was a huge disappointment at the box office this weekend. More signs this thing might actually be good.

A 125 million dollar film takes in just 26, opening weekend, is considered a flop. Maybe you better trust the critics on this one. LOL

my guess is that hovering/flying cars need just as much regulation in the future as to how they travel as planes do now in order or maximize density and reduce collisions. people are horrible drivers today. travelling in 3 dimensions is not going to improve that

It was definitely magnetism based. Watch the scene. They start off driving with the road under them, then switch to where the road is above them. Finally he turns off the magnets and drops to the actual ground. he turns the magnets back on above a car which saves them from crashing to earth. If it was a flying car at anytime during the couple hundred feet free fall he could have just started flying. Also the cars on the actual ground were normal cars with wheels. That would point to the cars not hovering as if that were the case they wouldn't need cars with wheels on the ground. Did you see the movie?

no, ive onlyseen the trailer and some clip (but with cars) on the daily show. the daily show clip was a chase scene on a roadway and i didnt notice any magnetism stuff. if im off, my bad.

edit: so the cars can use both friction and levitation to propel? that would be cool.

point still remains about organizing traffic. think about birds flocking and trailing ants.

It did better than Gigli. $75 million to produce, grossed $7 million and some change when it was all said and done.

I said this movie was gonna bomb!!!

Hopefully they recoup from DVD sales.

The majority of these remakes are shit. The producers are relying too much on current technological advances in special effects to win people over.

I hope the remake of Sparkle is not garbage but, from the trailers i've seen, it will NOT be better than the original, same as the remake of A Raisin In The Sun - which failed of free tv.

I really enjoyed this film. I've heard it stuck more towards the book than Arnold's version.
