Vocalo 89.5fm presents the "House Quest" DJ Competition (3 part series)

Vocalo's DJ Collective is looking for 2 of Chicago's best House Music DJs to round out the team.



The term "House Music" has come to mean many different things to folks over the years.
We want to be very specific on what we are looking for.

Various styles of House Music: Deep, Tech, Soulful, Latin, Disco, Jazzy..

Must be knowledgable of foundation grooves, creative & unique with their own sound.

Demo should be 30 minutes.

**** DEADLINE: Friday, September 7th 2012 ****

Mixes will be judged on:

Originality, Creativity, technique, flow & knowledgable of music.
Take us on a journey tell us a story through you mix.
Also do not submit a mix you can't reproduce live.
Keep it clean.. This is radio after all and we will most likely air the top demos.

The top 10 DJs will move on to the

After that we will narrow it down to the top 6 who will compete in the

The winners will be featured members of Vocalo's DJ
Collective, heard on Vocalo's weekly "Friday Night DJ Series",
Vocalo on WBEZ 91.5fm + various programs & events around town.

They will also be responsible for a monthly 60 minute mix.

I want to thank everyone who has already submitted their 30 minute, tomorrow (11:59pm) is the official deadline. Please send a link to your mix to download to (jessed@vocalo.org) & include a short bio & contact info.

We will contact the top 10 winning submissions Monday 9/10 & post the names of the DJs on this event page. Those DJs should be ready to compete next Weds. 9/12 @ the Shrine (Coup d'Etat) 2109 S. Wabash Ave.

They will spin a 20 minute set (can be the same as demo or a different set). Special guest judge: Joe Smooth (DJ International fame) + special guest DJ Jamie 326. Doors 8pm, show 9pm sharp.. 21+ No cover all night. Thanks JDLP
