Unfortunately, I'm not one of those lucky fellows who can call a 12-Inch of that nice song their own. I'm only one of the unworthy possesors of Joey Negro's Disco Spectrum Vol 1 that features the cut.
Now my question is, who are Unfinished Business?
I listened to the new Idjut Boys mix-cd "Saturday Nite Live 2" today and there is a version of Omni on there that was done by Unfinished Business and is caleld "Out Of Hands". It sounds very cool and dubby. Was this the flip of the Omni release? Or a cover like the things Began Cekic used to do on his labels? Please school me on that.

    Peace.

    Gerd

Ps. Unfortunately, it's not on the vinyl version of this comp.

I'm only aware of the Omni release on Fountain Records 1982. I would like to hear this other version if someone could post a minute of it.

i got the 'unfinished business' 12 aswell as omni and it is a cover, but a damn fine one, released on chicago connection in 1987. The man masterminding it is frankie Knuckles and it is just as good as the omni version if u ask me..

ill dig up a mp3 of it if you are interested...

It's the same song and group.Frankie Knuckles remixed the cut in 87.It's on Chicago Connection records, the same label Jt-Shake yo body dropped on.I love Frankie's remix of the tune, the dub being my favorite.

The original was a hot tune also.Fountain Records was a company owned by soul legend Jerry Butler.
I remeber MHD telling me he was cool with those cats a few years back. They had 3 lps released.Grey & Hanks wrote a lot of their early songs.

word, lawrence hanks married my sister, the hanks in grey and hanks is lawrence's older brother Lenron, connee draper is on vocals and they performed that cut at the Warehouse back in the day, great, great memories. side note, in the movie Soulfood, Lawrence did all of the piano work, very talented musician and a good brother

The Fountain pressing was one of my few truly lucky record finds, picked up here in Winnipeg for $1 at a thrift store. There were remnants of a club's collection for sale and I was really surprised to see that one made its way up here to the home of rock and roll.
