Back in the early 90's when I was winding down
my DJ career, Nelson PARADISE Roman was one of the
coolest, most amazing and under-rated DJs I ever
    heard.

When I used to sell records at the record conventions,
he was always digging and buying along with his
    boss from Big Beat.

When I finally heard him spin, it was like,
WTF...why does his boss even bother DJing at all.

And I agree that BlueJean is amazing too...lots
of his dubby, dark, minimal "tracks" still stand
    the test of time.

I look forward to their return, and I hope they
create some music that THEY LIKE and FEEL, rather
than just make music to "Sell".
(Not that there's anything wrong with that...
I just wish producers would make music they
    REALLY FEEL,
in addition to music to pay the bills if you see
    what I mean.)

Hey Doug, have you considered throwing a private
New Year's party at that Bond St. space?

right now the bond space is unvailable :(

    we will see later on.

Nelson was an underated producer/dj. He should have been up there with roger s, todd terry etc at that time.

i once wondered why nelson never released records on strictly? i asked another well known dj and he responded "nelsons music was too black for strictly" which i found to be an odd response. true @ the time strictly wasnt doing too much soulful stuff, they were doing more deep house. but too black???
