Ha, for real though Thanks 3:26..much appreciated.
Aight,
I just checked Whyteouts's "Not the same 30 Disco records mix on GottaHaveHouse.com-Classics-WhyteOut
and the version is a vocal as compared to the above mentioned mix from the Ron Hardy Mix.
Help...
Ron's edit is of the break.Mike played the joint from the beginning to the break.I prefer to play it from the begginning. That's the cut ya want.Check with some of the canadian heads, they run into Uniwave product quite easily, since it was a canadian release.Originally posted by 1343:

Get the original LP if you can. It's more of an EP than LP. There's only 5 tracks on it, and it's pressed more like a 12". Peaches And Prunes isn't the only cut worth playing either.....JMJ

There is a house record from 1999 that is kind of like a remix of just the break. It is by Diesel #1 on SI Project records. It's called "It's Magic" and it's on the bside of the song "Danse".
You're right. There are some other gems on the album.Originally posted by JMJ:

Just to add to the confusion--there's more than one version of the LP--one has more songs(1 or 2) than the other. If I'm not mistaken Theo Parrish just released an edit a little while back!

sorry to go off topic, but why do people keep calling theo parrish's edits: edits? They are straight sample looped disco records. When someone else just takes a sample and loops it with very little changes to it, it gets called ripped off uncreative sample looped disco bullshit house blah blah blah and gets dissed on this board to no end. But when people buy into a certain producer's image like theo's, it gets praised no matter how mundane the loop.
Sup wit dat?

The thing I'm talking about is an edit--no additional music other than the original--just chopped up/rearranged. Can't speak for his other works--not a big fan!!!Originally posted by Ghost Of Donger:

Good point. There's nothing special about the one's I've heard. Maybe I'm missing something.....JMJOriginally posted by Ghost Of Donger:

BTW, I own a handful of some really good Theo Parrish records, so don't think i'm attacking this guy or even his sample loops.
It's just an observation of the record buying public and how their perception of a producer may influence the way they hear a record.

and yeah, i didn't buy those edits either.

Dong, most of those edits, that's what they are have been done by Theo on tape decks. No sampling whatsoever.I personally did not dig the Peaches and prunes edit. It's cool, but I pride myself in making my shit tight.Theo is mad cool and I do not dis anyone who doesn't need to be dissed.
Now if we have to go into the specifics, most of the early edits of early classics were done in NYC by Krivit. The more repetitive edits originated here in Chicago by Ron Hardy and the likes.
You dont dig it cool. There's no need to knock something you don't like.It shows limits on your thinking.I personally did not see anything special in your battle mix, yet,I did not dis or say you were not deep enough for me.It don't matter to me,because you and I are two different people. It's all about respect...that's all.
I got ya.I didnt buy any either.if one edit was for sale,I would pay a nice amount for that Brides of Funkenstein edit of Never buy texas from a cowboy. That shit was sick.Originally posted by Ghost Of Donger:

I think you're all off on this. the last topic about theo's edits fools wre talking how they are sloppy and basic or whatever. but that "sloppy" sound if you wanna call it that, has a rawness to it....that same "rawness" as I prefer to call it, comes across on the dancefloor and moves me more than most overproduced and overquantized edits that are being spit out at a record pace...Theo finds the sweet spots and gives them a work out..ya'll are trippin' :D
read the thread again. i didn't diss him in any way.Originally posted by JAMIE 3:26:

KLAS,I get your point, but I can do a tape deck edit at the crib.I am not going to pay for a tape deck edit on wax, when I can do the same or even better to my likings at home.Originally posted by djklas:

Like I said Theo is my guy and we kicked it hard in Miami. He told me he is not going to do any more of those kinds of releases and he mainly only did it for the dj's.He's no longer doing promos due to the bootlegging issue.
At first I didnt dig a lot of his tracks, but I got more into them and saw the old-school feel.I respect tHeo,like a lot of others.Hell,I cant talk shit about somethin I ain't doin'.That's the problem. To each his own.
