Is there other types of music or artists that you enjoy that your friends dislike... Example: I listen to alot of Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Creed, Linkin Park, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Aerosmith, early Bon Jovi, U2 and Ministry. (just to name a few) My friends don't believe I like that type of music. They come over to visit and I got Metallica blaring...

My friends just don't care for house to much. I listen to many of the groups you just mentioned.

A couple of my friends unfortunately don't understand hip hop. My free jazz records are another thing that they'd probably get annoyed by.

if you get a chance, check out the "videos" section on the deftones website and click on the "white pony promo". great ****ing video.

edit: you might want to wait till you are not at work to view that video because there are some images in the video that are probably not approriate for the workplace.

I'll listen to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin...in a nutshell, I'll listen to the "Rat Pack".

I'll, also, listen to glen miller ~ big band type music when I'm in the car by myself. It helps my "road rage".

I really dig Amish folk tunes, but my friends haven't jumped on the wagon yet, so to speak. They just don't know what they're missing! I can't think of anything better than sitting around in a circle drinking hot buttermilk fresh from the tits of a goat, enjoying freshly baked pastries, and singing some of my favorites around a campfire, surrounded by Amish villagers and some of my favorite farm animals. After singing two or three of my favorites, I usually notice some of the Amish women sporting rock hard nipples through their gowns, and then.....it's ON!!!......JMJ

When I was boy I was into Nancy Wilson. My brother and sister thought that was hilarious and teased me to no end.

I was also into Dionne Warwick (particularly her work with Burt B) and Lou Rawls as a teen. That was confusing to some of my peers, which is understandable since most hadn't a clue what they sang at the time.

In the late 80's I remember being into The Cult for a brief period. That was a quite a stretch for me considering my general dislike of metal rock. There was something about "Love Removal Machine" and Ian Astbury's over-the-top expressions that hooked me in. Everytime I hear the song, I wonder why Mary J. Blige hasn't yet covered it. It seems perfect for her.

My friends dislike some of the hip-hop I listen to. For instance, I like Kool Keith, The Smut Peddlers, High & Mighty, Company Flow, Godfather Don...underground hip-hop (whatever that is)
Then there's the jazz. They look at me like I'm crazy when they hear stuff like Freddie Hubbard and Cal Tjader blasting in my basement. Sometimes in just listening, I'll jump from Kool Keith to Miles Davis or something.
