It was joy to play at the Attic. I loved being in a place that had my people around my same age. PRICELESS!!

I am going to make a serious effort to return to Chicago for this event. I returned to the party scene @ The Attic, I left Chicago after playing the 1st Attic picnic. GS Productions is responsible for my comming back to the DJ booth again after an almost 14 year absent.

Attic memories:

DHP member Suenomartino was on a tour and he stopped by Chicago. He wanted to see what a Chicago house party was like, so I took him to the Attic.

It was a great party and many DHP heads were there. It was a great night and I was really happy to share it. When I think of the Attic, that is one of the things that come to mind.

That and sitting at the bar talking shit with Rahaan, Jaime and Steve Price [img]graemlins/rofl.gif[/img]

Sometimes you don't realize how special something is, until it's gone.
The Attic has been and always will be special to me, not because of the music, the sound system, or the venue itself.
It's been Mrs. Wynell, Lowell, Kelli, Zulu, Emannual, Reg, Ruth, Erica and the rest of the Attic family that made it a special place to be every 2nd, 3rd, & 4th Thursday of the month.
It's been the best DJ's, I feel, in the world who have given their time & talents to showcase at The Attic.
It's been the sense of a "real" community of people who love this music and want to keep it alive.
The spirit of The Attic can never end.... because it's in us all, already!

I've danced with you through family and friends announcements of Cancer, AIDS, Parkinsons, and many deaths. I've danced, cried, and prayed to your music. I was just saying how you were the one place that I could always rely on to dance my troubles away.

I could come in go to my corner and go back to yesteryear. In a world so full of pretense, and abrasiveness, you were to me the welcoming arms of comfort. Wynell, y'all are my family too. Y'all were there for me when I had no job. Whenever I felt like my job was stressin' me and I needed a release, if nothing else was going on, I knew I could count on the Attic on Thursday to get my strees out and my dance on.
