I just couldn't wait to let you all know what's about to happen this
month at Mixtape Sessions.
I have the distinct pleasure of presenting Mr. Ralph McDaniels of Video
Music Box fame, TONIGHT May 6, 2003 from 6-9PM...
Ralph McDaniels is a legend in the hip hop industry, jump-starting an
influential video show called "Video Music Box". Back when cable was a
luxury, Video Music Box made sure to take the sounds of hip-hop, r&b,
and even house from the streets and place it in your living room.
From VJ to DJ, Ralph McDaniels is a well-established part of the Hip-Hop
world. Starting at WNYW's Midday Live New York and then moving to Video
Music Box, "Uncle Ralph" was one of the first VJ's to cater to an
exclusively hip-hop crowd.
Ralph has also delved into the world of motion pictures, making his
acting debut in the film "Who's The Man?" He was the associate producer
of the motion picture Juice and founded his own film and production
company.
This New York native possesses the spirit of, and respect for, Hip-hop
culture. Ralph McDaniels is a pioneer, entrepreneur, visionary, and
every weekend on HOT97, he's also one of New York's Hip Hop
personalities.
Ralph and I will be tag teaming a soulful house set for you to enjoy and
will also be talking about VMB and its impact on the underground dance,
hip hop, and r&b cultures.
