Folks are starting to voice real opinions...."Whaaaaat???"

Why sugarcoat shit and go along with everyone else?I'm glad I have seen someone besides TAC say a mix is wack.

Tell the damn truth sometimes.I listened to the mix,it was nice, but not enough stank on it for me.Damn good selection and tunes, but I LIKE new tunes, but I personallly prefer a mixture of older house tunes mixed in.

So people are getting "real" 'cause they say they don't like a mix. Please! Personal taste will always mean something. What's the point of your post? Who are you addressing and which mix are you talking about?

I'm speaking on the Osunlade mix. Then again,I could be speaking on any damn mix here.

623,folks will come here and if certain folks say it's the shit, others will chime on in.Trust me,some folks have given praises on shit that was as weak as 3 day old coffee.

I would rather have someone tell me the truth, than blow smoke up my ass.

The same thing goes for when everyone agrees on the same thing....someone has to be lyin' at one time or another.I've seen it done in real life.Folks will be praisin' something, along with other folks,as soon as the group breaks up,you will hear someone say..."That shit was weak anyways..."

Folks are saying shit just to fit in.This is just my opinion and how I see shit. Not trying to force my opion on something, but when someone is afraid to tell the truth due to backlash, that's kinda messed up.

nothing wrong with telling the truth but people have feelings. that's "real" too. there's a way to do and say things.

sometimes people need to keep their mouths shut.

Some of the most "raved" mixes are lacking in what many consider the following criteria for judging a mix. 1.steady and consistent beat mixing 2.melody and key harmony 3."Theme -atic" sense i,e Love, music, unity 4.balance of old and new in selections 5.creative use of effects if used
Correct me if I'm wrong or maybe add to what i mentioned.

No correction you are right,
I would like to add "Energy" but I guess that goes with creativity(effects etc....).
personally ,I don't care too much about records that happen to be blended together in the same key, as long as the mix sounds good even when they aren't in the same key,
it's cool with me...........

</font>
Pardons for coming off so gruff.
I read what you're saying. Not to attack anyone but most of the reviews I read on here about mixs say nothing more than "tight! slammin'," etc, etc. Whenever I read one word-ers like that I'm still left wondering what the person liked about the mix. Really what does "slammin" mean to a person?
I've been packing up to move and have gotten to my mix cds. Score! - There are tons of them. Thanks to all who have sent me mixs. However, of the tons, there are only a few that I would say are "excellent" all the way around. By that I mean mixing, selection, packaging, - Of the tons there are many, many, many that have blends here and there that are close to genius or excellent - but the rest of the cd is okay-good.
I begrudge no one posting their mix whenever they choose but you lot are the Djs. You're probably more aware of your flubs than I am. So now what? As for the yessers, that's up to the Dj to decipher for themselves. ;) What would you like to see? What would be a person's motive for being a yes person?

Speaking of mixs .. Ahem BigSexy ... Now that you haven't left the Underground, I have a message from my post box.

*I haven't listened to the Osunlade mix
*I rarely if ever listen to mixs online. Buffering on laptop is horrendous.
*Send cds All!

Took out the top notch part 'cause money paid really has nothing to do with how much I like a mix.

i'm in chicago for the holiday! my mixes are decent!

well, jamie (artist formerly known as jamie 3:26 formerly known as bigsexy) i got a question...what if the people who like the mix in question (whatever that might be) really just like it? and are not just frontin?

and 6 23, what if the people who like the mix in question (whatever booty boo) and call it "hot, bangin, slammin, tite" just know what they like and don't feel like going into why they like it as far as selection/technique/blends/effects/blazehblah...
wha's wrong with that?

what's wrong with it really?

"Wrong?" - Nothing. If I care enough to want to know "more" I'll ask. Just 'cause I ask doesn't mean a person has to answer or is obligated to -Where's the wrong coming from?
