delays put us back)

Nicky someone that Ouse's charisma, a true pioneer of club culture, music
culture, and urban decadence. Listed in New York magazine's 35th anniversary
edition as one of the 100 people to have changed New York.

Plus support from your hosts DJs KARL DAVISON and GAV SMITH.

Nicky is seen by many as the template for the modern club DJ. A man who with
the opening
of his infamous GALLERY club in 1971, and residency at the much talked about
STUDIO 54,
influenced the influential, and launched the careers of many, including.
GRACE JONES, LOLEATTA HOLLOWAY, LARRY LEVAN and FRANKIE KNUCKLES.

In 1977 he became the first DJ to produce a record. The underground classic
KISS ME AGAIN on Sire records went on to sell over 300,000 copies.
In 1984, after the death of close friend and DJ mentor David Rodriguez from
AIDS, Nicky gave up DJing to concentrate on working with people with HIV and
AIDS.
In which time he wrote the best selling book on alternative HIV treatments,
NO TIME TO WAIT.
In 1998 he was called back to the decks to celebrate Larry Levans birthday at
New York's seminal Sunday session BODY & SOUL. A night that launched him back
into the world club scene, from Moscow to Montreal.
Nicky also worked closely with both the making of the Maestro documentary, a
film showing the rise of club culture from its underground and prodomently
black, gay roots in New York, to its current global industry status.
And Tim Laurences highly acclaimed book LOVE SAVES THE DAY, chronicling the
history of New York dance music from 1970 to 1979.
Nicky's influence was carried to a new audience last year with the release of
his GALLERY compilation album on London's SOUL JAZZ records.

Decor: To be kitted out in a traditional New York style, balloon ceiling and
drop, with
traditional artwork and photography including original video footage shot in
the GALLERY between 75 and 77.
