Well, good news and bad. The bad news is that I could not get my audio stream on Shoutcast to a high enough bitrate for the show to stream. The good news is that the show will still go on, only like ChicagoHouseRocks...as streamed files.

CLICK HERE to stream the show in its entirety, or scroll below for links to stream or download individual parts of the show.

    This Week's Guest DJ:
    Mr. Myiagi

    Years Playing:
I've been creative my whole life, whether through the visual arts or through music. Started playing the piano when I was 8 years old and progressed through the saxophone and the guitar before finding the wheels of steel. I started Djing hard dance music in 2000 after being dissatisfied with what I was hearing other DJs play out. I needed a harder, faster, filthier sound and I felt the need to allow others to hear it too. This passion to expose people to the hard dance sound has kept me spinnin since then.

    Influences:
I guess my early influences for electronic dance music came from groups like Prodigy, the Crystal Method, Chemical Brothers, Orbital, Fat Boy Slim and compilations such as MTV's AMPed. These guys got me hooked on the electronic dance sound and I soon discovered DnB, techno, trance, house and other forms of EDM through the underground rave scene.

Since I've become a DJ, I've had a variety of DJ/producer influences which include BK, Andy Farley, Paul Glazby, Superfast OZ and Dom Sweeten. All guys from the UK and all guys that showed me that hard dance music doesn't have to be obnoxious and grating; it can be melodic, funky, chunky, driving, banging and soulful as well.

Personal DJ influences are DJ Roe who got me into DJing, Mr. Estep who hates hard dance but will critique my mixing technique anyways, and Depthcharge who inspires me with his unique hard dance mixing brain.

    Style:
I call my style Hard Dance because it encompasses a lot of different genres of music. My sets can and will include hard techno, acid techno, UK hard house, nu nrg, tech nrg and hard trance sounds. I don't want to be tied down or associated with only one kind of genre. I don't play the club and radio hits that a lot of other DJs play. Yes, a DJs job is to make the crowd happy and play what they want to hear but a DJ also has a responsibility to educate the crowd on new, emerging music in the scene. Otherwise, our scene becomes stale and does not grow and change in a healthy way.

My goal behind the decks is to make the crowd go absolutely mental on the dance floor with reckless abandon, without care for life's unfairness and harsh realities, and without care of social standing or material possessions. I want to make you dance, not nod your head and tap your foot DAMNIT!!
