HOOKING UP A KEYBOARD TO TH E OXYGEN 8

I had a key board session and could not get to it to work. Anybody know to get the oxygen 8 to work with a keyboard via MIDI?

is it not possible to just play the keyboard itself rather than trying to control it with the oxygen 8?

how did you have it hooked up? midi cable from the midi out on the oxygen 8 to the midi in on the keyboard, or were you going through a midi interface hooked up to a computer?

Oxygen 8 uses a USB port on the computer. I was told when I bought it it was a controller and I could hook up a keyboard to it.(i was told wrong)

Hey,

the oxygen 8 if I remember correctly has a little switch in the back of it: MIDI, OFF, USB.

For USB, all u need is to plug the usb cord and set the the switch to USB.

for midi, you have to change the switch to MIDI, plug in a power supply and plug in the MIDI cable. (Only MIDI OUT).

oxygen 8 also has a midi output on the back .. that's how you would connect it directly to a midi keyboard

if you have a midi output on your audio interface or if you also have a separate midi interface hooked up to your computer you should also be able to route the midi signals from the oxygen 8 (connected to your computer via usb) to the keyboard through your midi sequencing software

what kind of keyboard are you looking to control?
