If I am not mistaken the hip hop group Gangstar just recorded an album using REASON I heard all they had was a condensor mic a Mac setup a mixer and a copy of Reason! THEY WERENT EVEN IN A STUDIO THEY RECORDED IT IN A FEW DAYS AT SOME UPSCALE NEW YORK HOTEL SUITE JUST VIBIN' OUT AND RAPPIN' ! The whole project was put together by pro-skater turn hip hop producer Chad Muska. He is a big fan of Gangstar and REASON. He made loops on the fly vibed it and other rappers showed up and guest starred on the album. Grand Puba and some dudes from M.O.P were featured. Reason is good for those guys then its got to be cool! Also solo electronic GEM just finished her album completely done all on Reason. I just got a copy and I am reading the manuals as we speak I plan on buying a tutorial cos I am not very good a reading manuals !(HA!) I own an MPC 2000 that I currently do tracks on and I will continue to do them on but I will start to use it less for my house tracks and more for my jazz /trip hop sounding stuff it makes it a little more organic by using the MPC I think.

you can still use your MPC together with reason, just connect the midi out of the MPC to the midi in of your computer running reason and sync the two......

it's important to use your own sounds, samples and patches with reason, instead of relying on the default factory presets, because these sound rather well-known and typical, so you avoid the "reason sound" ...

furthermore it's a good thing to export your reason mix, or submix, or even individual tracks (you can also use rewire for this) and use other plugins or hardware to mix new sounds/effects or modify the sound before creating a final mix...... of course mastering is also very important and you need some good hard or software and more important: experience, to create a well-balanced sound....

tip: use the tape setting on the scream4 module in Reason 2.5 to warm up and compress sound sources to get that vintage pumping studer 2track sound ;)

not really...reason doesn't support audio input, so to record your MPC audio you have to use a program that can do audio recording, f.e. Cubase, so you can use rewire to combine it with the Reason audio..

Yes I am using Reason with Rewire. I want to record reason audio with CUBASE SX. It mentions it in the Cubase manual but it doesnt give any specific directions on how to actually do it. :(
