With all the debate re. new vs old

What records have you found that have no connection to what older/classic dj's used to play...you know a discovery that as far as you are aware was not played back in the day and you have not heard anyone else play.

Does this not make the record a new record ( if you catch my drift )if it's not really had any exposure before.

For most part people seem to play records that so and so used to play way back.

I for my part check what the old and new dj's are playing along with a fair amount of scouring the net and shops for records i have not heard before.

The records i seem to come across are by happy accident, you know mis-spelling of name, pulled the wrong 12" etc....

How do you go about finding your gems are you led or do you just buy that funky looking LP ( this could be costly are there are some great covers from back in the 70's to present day ) but we all know that good cover does not equate to good record ( nice wall hanging though ;) )

Please discuss and if you will post some of the records that you have found that you think should get more exposure old and new

    cheers

    ps. hope this makes sense

Tom where did you find that!? I've been looking for it for two years. Someone played me it and it's really good. What's the label, BTW?

    Hmmm, maybe

Lee Moore "Reachin Out (For Your Love)"

but I'm not sure. How should I know what all the DJs were playing back then? But I'm pretty sure that this is not one of your "20 Same Disco Songs".

    Peace.
