if you wanna go old school, the equation looks like this

30***60
-- = --
?****100

so, multiply 30 X 100 and divide that by 60

3000 / 60 = 50

substitute "=" for "is"

move the decimal two spaces to the left so 60. becomes .60

"x" for "of"

and "n" for what number


therefore

30 = .60X

solve for X

divide both sides by .60

30 / .60 = 50
