"Love of the music should be the driving force of any producer, performer or DJ. Everything else stems from that core, that love. With that love, sampling can become a tribute; An expansion on ideas long forgotten, reconstruction, collage. Using the same understanding openly and respectfully can turn DJing into a spiritual participation. It can turn a few hours of selection into essential history; Necessary listening through movement."

Dope lyracist. Originally down with the Ultramagnetic MCs. He rhymes under a bunch of alias; Dr. Doom, Dr. Octagon, Black Elvis, Poppa Large, Rhthym X, etc.
He's amazing. Last album sucked, though.

I have a friend on mine that LOVES Kool Keith and every time we go somewhere in my car,he has to get a Dr. Octagon CD out of his car to play in mine. He told me that Kool Keith has a mental condition that he is diagnosed with. I do love his stuff. Avant Gaurde Hip Hop. Peace.
Ronnie, listen to you brother on this one-Kool Kieth is one of the best Hip Hop artists in the world today.
He was one of the founding memebers of Ultramagnetic MC's-one of the most influential groups to come from the east coast.
He has directly and indirectly influenced a slew of artists that are out today. He is the king of doing what he wants, when he wants and exactly how he wants.
When he was with Ultramagnetic, they created one of the pinnicles of underground Hip Hop-the album "Critical Beatdown" and from then on, he never stopped. He did another album with Ultramagnetic called "the four horsemen" which was just as incredible as the first album.
The group disbanded after that and Kieth went solo. He did a lot of guest spots under his different aliases with different artists, while putting out albums on the sly. He was notorious during the 90's for signing to a record label, putting out an album, collecting the cash and then disappearing so the label couldn't find him. Then he would start all over again with a new label.
He was institutionalized breifly in the 80's and has no problem with telling people about it. He is one of the funniest lyricists I have ever heard in my life. 'nuff said.

I saw him live here in Dallas one time. He threw out chicken wings and Capri Sun juice boxes and told us "Eat your chicken. It has protein. Capri Sun contains 100% of your daily vitamin C."

Right on, Sueno! Also, Ronnie-try to find his "sex styles" album. It came out in the late 90's and is entirely devoted to freaky sex. I can only get through about three songs before I have to turn that shit off from laughin' so hard!
