I've been told it has. I called, and the number "has been temporalily disconected". Haven't been by that way lately.

That restaurant had very good food, though pricey. I had a sea bass there that was on point. And they employed live bands every night. Nice decor, too!

Looks like another victim of post-9/11. Another good spot gone!

Fletch, we are well beyond 9/11 to blame the closing of a restaurant on it - come on!

Lola's - Overcrowded, overpriced, mediocre food. That's not to say I never had any fun there - always had a good time, but really had to be in the mood to not have enough room to lift your drink to your lips! If they are moving good, find a better space and have a better layout!

Peeps aren't spending like they used to. That IS a result of 9/11, whether it's just after, or three years later.

We can agree that LOLA's was pricey ($9 for a drink), but the fact that it's closed (at least temp) means less work for musicians in New York (Nell's gone, LOLA's gone, who's next?).

    Regarding Nell's:

Imitation of Christ designer Tara Subkoff is designing Nell's, which is being relaunched by nightlife nabob Noel Ashman with investors including "Mr. Big" Chris Noth, former Yankee David Wells and socialite Anne Jones. Both Nell's and Dream open this fall.
