How many of you are actually working House DJs, House Promoters or just working in the label or distribution industry full time?

Please tell us where you work and what city/country you are in.

i am a "working" House DJ - i play the music at my functions, i bump it in my ride, i pass it on to the unenlightened...

i am a "working" House Promoters - i send massive folk to this site, i get folk to show up a parties that i cannot attend, i even talk a few folk into coming out to the electronic fest to go listen to some house... :D

i also work in the label or distribution industry full time - most of my full-time entertainment funding goes towards label and distribution industry products -aka- vinyl...

i work wherever i find myself and i reside in mishigin...

and, by the way, i don't yell "house is not dead", i exist - therefore, house exists...

A lot of these people think house is alive and well cause they show up to 5 free parties a week and don't have to buy drinks, and they don't realise how the venues are bitching about not making any $ or the people (sometimes entire staff) getting laid off at the biggest house labels.

It's like Tony Wilson says in 24 Hour Party People about when the engine in a plane dies and the plane keeps soaring through the air for a bit so it really feels like you are flying, but it's only a short matter of time till you crash.

i agree that people are always in need of enlightenment, but to be enlightened by house music?? if being enlightened means driving one to take up enough capeiora, break dancing and/or west african dance classes to battle successfully in house clubs, then i say, ENLIGHTEN ME.

deephouseheads are some of the most non-business minded, least professional people i have ever met in my life...the kicker is many work in professional day jobs, but fail to apply that kind of ethic to the scene...

Why is it that this is a every week topic about House, isn't this page called DHP, I always see negative comments about the stuff that you DJ's do for a living. you make me think that you really don't like what you do or what you play and or your just a miserable person looking for attention. I like and love house music and any DJ that can Mix that shit and make us dance our fucking head off.. but every day I see debates about house is dead or house aint shit.. if it is all that Why are you still on DHP and why do you still play House Music..

Stick with the Bling Bling Music if your not about HOUSE!!

The only pure science is math.
    Numbers don't lie.
The numbers indicate that there are more people viewing, contributing to, and joining DHP everyday.
That growth tells me that House ain't dead.

Also the fact that I play around the world and can get the crowd going wild about records that were made 20 years ago...that tells me that House still has a hella life to go.
