Finally picked up Trionisphere by Kerri Chandler, its pretty nice. Several nice pieces on it, my buddy just looked at me and said that new stuff that doenst seem to be your style.

Change, CAN be good. What is 623 is a nice track and something deeper is cool too. On my way is a nice track too, with several others but once piece has this horn riff that sounding nice to my ears.

Grabbed that Needs comp too and couldnt believe the cats didnt give any thanks to ole Glenn, many say that its his sound...

I don't think NEEDS sounds like GU - why should they throw him props for doing their own thing over in Scandanavia?

Can you give me any details about the Needs Comp ?

Is this a compilation of their own stuff or other artists ?

Scandinavia ? I thought they were German. Maybe I'm thinking of someone else

    Many thanks

German indeed, and I am not trying to make it big riff about it. Many hear the sound of Needs and comment as such, I enjoy their sound and they've got something unique and rich, some of them chords and that 'hit' often reminds me of some of Glenn's sh*t.(let's say its all in my head for lack of argument).

The Needs have their OWN sound. Of course there are cross influences in house music, and I can also feel GU's influence in the Needs sound. However, they've taken it to a different vibe and a different place, so they don't need to thank anybody if they don't feel like it.

    Hk,

Thanks for the tracklisting and compilation details I'll definitely be tracking this down. I guess I got into them when I heard 'So Many Things' on one of larry Heard's mixes here at the DHP. I hope it's the version on the comp album because I've never found the 12". Also loved the remix they did of Russ Gabriel's 'Live at the nugget' Looking forward to hearing their other tracks

    Again, Many Thanks

if you liked "Trionisphere", you'll LOVE "Trionisphere Live" which was recorded at Space Lab Yello in Tokyo - all the tracks (plus a few unreleased gems) mixed, played and performed LIVE in one sitting with no edits...

I believe Glenn was thanked in person when Needs was in Chicago.

Please, let's move on, both artists are great but all this ass-slapping and sucking-up is irrelevent, NEEDS is NEEDS, GU is GU.

What about Phil Asher (Restless Soul) does he have to throw a big-shout out to anyone?

When's Joey Negro going to be thanked???

Well I've stated this too many times, like other things, so yeah Danny I agree, not if they dont want to. Thanks Akila, there's a direct connection, but I think he called it Tech-jazz, and when I tell these elders that down here, SOME can see where the dude is going!

Live @ the Nugget is indeed a gem far beyond its time!....That's why they're in the nutty class right along with Glenn's nutty-azs......just sick, plain madness I tell U. I just havent heard enough of Ron's sound, but several things he's done I've enjoyed.

Been listening to that newer piece Glenn did on Sancsoul or something like that with the sista and My Trix, also heard Movements by Jihad Muhammad which was choice, especially the second snippet!....lush and nice feel to it. (too much music out here)

Um, wasn't GU working with needs for some stuff recently? He was in their studio or vice versa? refer SNC a couple of volumes back... if some artists work sounds similar then cool, so what? Do I hear "no way back" - endless flight edit?
