These forums are self-policing. Members usually handle people that cross the line before DHP staff ever know of it. Locking of threads, warnings from administrators and banning of members are all options, but we try to not use them in the hopes our community can be adults in their discussions. We realize that even families fight sometimes. The good part is most families work out their problems and are stronger for it. Let's keep striving for that as well.

Is the deephousepage forum a democratic resource, meaning, you can just say whatever you want? No it is not. There are other forums not part of this site - designed to do this.


1.) Please refrain from making physical threats of any kind toward another board member. This guideline applies to the personal messages (PMs) as well.

2.) Please refrain from calling another board member or a group of members insulting names. This guideline applies to the personal messages (PMs) as well.

3.) No posting of sexually explicit pictures. Links to extreme sexual, gore or grotesque images are also not appropriate for this site.

4.) Please refrain from making ethnic, racial, sexist, homophobic or religious slurs. This includes using biblical references to preach hate or condemnation. Please refrain from making racist or bigoted comments.

5.) Evangelizing people to your faith whether Christian, Muslim, or whatever is also prohibited. Signatures with Scripture references are fine, but do NOT try and proactively persuade people to your religious orientation through the forums.

6.) Please refrain from airing your personal disagreements or relationship drama on the board. If you have beef with another member, please work it out offline.

7.) Using the PM's to personally attack or harass someone is not allowed

8.) Promoters, DJs or other businesses must get permission to advertise  in the main forum (Deep House and Disco talk 200X) of this site. Separate forums have been provided for mixes, party pluggers and announcements.  If you don't have permission to promote  in the main forum then your post may be moved  without warning. If the owners give you permission to advertise in the main forum and you abuse it by over advertising then permission will be terminated.

9.) Please respect a member's right to have a serious discussion by not hijacking a thread with jokes and funny pictures. Members have the right to moderate (keep the thread on subject) their threads. The closing of threads is subject to the DHP posting guidelines. Once people start posting on your thread they have the right to continue the discussion.

10.) Topics other than house are welcome. Please refrain from flooding the board with topics. Flooding is defined as posting\bumping more than five posts on the main board at a given time. If the posts are party/mix announcements see rule #7. Discussions on music, religion, politics and race can get heated so keep the dialog going by not resorting to items #1 - #2 above. Agree to disagree .

11.) The mission of this web site and message board is to honor and respect those who have made and are making great contributions to this scene. Constructive criticism is always welcome. Giving your opinion about what you don't like is welcome. Please keep your criticisms and opinions respectful.

12.) Use of multiple logins to the board is not permitted.

13.) Posting private messages (PMs) on the main message board for everyone to read is not allowed. If someone breaks the rules in a PM to you then you can forward that PM to the admins for review and possible action.

14.) Continually posting inflammatory topics (trolling) is not allowed.

15.) Refrain from posting message titles in all caps. Also refrain from using very long displayed names in all caps.

16.) This web site has an agreement with undergroundNYC.com. Please refrain from mentioning or inferring that website, its administrators or activities in any of your posts.

17.) This board can get pretty intense at times. If you have a problem with something that was posted please contact an admin and it will be reviewed. You agree to hold the owners harmless with respect to any damages received by participating in this forum.

18.) The last rule: The administrators best judgment is the final call. Translation: The Moderators can do whatever they want. If they want to delete a post, they can. If they want to lock a topic, they can.


If you break these guidelines you may get banned from this site. Bannings are at the discretion of the administrators. Another option the administrators may use is to close the thread that has broken the guidelines.
