If you see an area is up and coming, get with some partners and open a storage business....especially if the neighborhood is a roommate heavy area.

Pizza place....the markup is insane....it cost maybe 9 to 11 cents to make a pie! Wow!!

I hear that, I've been doing this for a while now and each time I make a payment, there's such a sense of relief that I feel.

And PLEASE Look at your credit report as often as possible.

Peace

I have a Production company, which has been in Businees for atleast the last ten years (officially anyway),and record companies that have been in business for the last eight (officially). If someone invests $1000 in us,we pay them back $1100 in a year.If they invest $2000 in us,we pay them back $2200 in a year.$3000,turns into $3300 in a year,$4000,turns into $4400 in a year,$5000,turns into $5500 in a year, etc, etc. We dont accept more than $10000 investments though (which by the way, would be paid back to the investor as $11000 in a year). When I say,in a year, meaning one year from the day the monies apply to our companies bank account. We have numerous references who can be supplied on request.

Please clarify what you mean by High Risk or Low Risk ?
The monies the investor (s) supply, are paid back, plus 10% on top,to the investor (s),one year from the day that it is paid into our companies account (account is in USA,and has been at the same bank for the last ten years).Aside from the companies being in Business for (8/10 years),I've been working in the Business for atleast 17 years (officially anyway).I can send you Bio/Discography,and supply references upon request.

I guess what I'm asking if I give you 10,000. Am I guaranteed 11,000 back? I mean mathematically that's only 83.33 earned a month.

Comic Books and a Master's Degree.

Comic books will be a big collector's item in about 20 years, when print media starts becoming scarce due to the internet.

And a Master's Degree guarantees you at least $50,000 a year, and is one step away from a Phd.

G-man's suggestion is best. If that is done (or at least manageable), I'd look at gold buillion and euros.

If I can add to this advice? Do not close your accounts after paying your debts. Keeping an account active and well maintained is a plus.

not sure i agree with this, let's say you had three Visa acounts each with a limit of 5000, even though all three had zero balances I think s this would be viewed as a negative since your "potential" debt could be $15,000.00

Do people know what their Fico score is ?

What is a FICO score?
It's a number lenders use to help them decide: "If I give this person a loan or credit card, how likely is it that I will get paid back on time?" A FICO score is a snapshot of your credit risk picture at a particular point in time. The higher your score, the lower the risk to lenders. Fair, Isaac and Company Inc. develops the mathematical formulas used to produce FICO scores.

How can I improve my FICO score?
Your FICO score analysis will suggest things you can do to improve your score over time. Generally, people with high FICO scores consistently:
- Pay bills on time.
- Keep balances low on credit cards and other revolving credit products.
- Apply for and open new credit accounts only as needed.

What's the most important factor in a Score?
FICO scores consider five main kinds of credit information. Listed from most important to least important, these are:
- Payment history.
- Amount owed.
- Length of credit history.
- New credit.
- Types of credit in use.

Ranges (higher range the better)
720 - 850
700 - 719
675 - 699
620 - 674
560 - 619
500 - 559

A better way of looking at this is to look at the annual return that is being offered instead of the dollar amount. The annual return that he is offering is 10%. From there, you should look at investments with comparable risk characteristics to determine if 10% is a large enough return given the investment's level of risk.

Thanks for the Fico System breakdown G Man.Investments made into our company are put directly towards production and manufacturing. We have a 100 plus Distributor list (our buyers),which was compiled over years. If I explain the difference between our manufacturing costs, and selling price,it will clarify excactly how profits are made, and how we pay investors back, their investments, plus 10% on top.We learned, early on,that selling to one Distributor (Buyer),could be Fatal to a company (As if it goes bust, the domino effect is likely to occur). We beleive in transparent business,no secrets,or quick money, and we have never accepted investments (or will ever accept investments),without the investor fully understanding how their money is invested, and how their earnings on their investements are made.

Your best investment is an education, then pay off your debt (which I'm currently working on), then start working on purchasing stocks and real estate. Now is the best time to purchase stock since the market is in a slump. I originally wanted to be a portfolio manager/stock broker until I found the IT industry much more fascinating. I still follow the market though so trust me on this and BUY STOCK NOW!! You'll thank me later.

Mike,
One piece of advice in regards to Real Estate. Don't let those TV ads fool you. Here is real estate 101 investing in a nut shell. The less you pay for a house the more it will cost you. There is no such thing as a great deal in real estate. If it was the person who is selling it to you would buy it. Nobody and I mean nobody sells things that make money. This advise goes for businesses for sell as well. There is some good advice up here to investigate. And remember a good investment is one that makes a better return than the lowest possible one. (I.E if the worst you could make in a savings account is 3%, anything above that return is a good investment.)

Hope this helps, and good luck.

Buying stocks individually is very risky for the small investor (not to mention tax issues that you have to consider ie. capital gains). Unless you can afford to buy 20,000 shares of IBM (like some state pension funds aka. CALPERS or FRS can) look into buying no-load, low cost mutual funds, preferably mutual funds that track an index (S&P 500, Wiltshire 5000, MCSI, etc.). There are index funds for stocks as well as for short-term, intermediate-term, & long-term bonds.

There are some great links that can go in much more detail about the value of indexing versus buying merely actively-managed funds. Here are a few:

www.efficientfrontier.com
www.indexfunds.com
www.vanguard.com

Hope this helps,

Hi Michael,

Aside from investment talk, looks like we're feelin much of the same music.I saw you posted "Eight Arms" (Or was is "Powedrill"),by the Goon Squad in another post.Definately brought back some memories. You mentioned "Yo Little Brother" by Nolan Thomas.I found out years later that the guy lip syncing in the video,is'nt the guy who sang it (but I guess thats old news now,huh ?).Saw your Italo Classics post as well.Respect.
