Maybe the person who taught him.
Dare I say J? I'd probably be wrong about who taught you though.

Unfortunately, I've had to stop giving them out, especially in Chicago. Played a party recently where the opener ran through some of my stuff (that I'd given him) before I got on. Kinda like getting shot with your own weapon, ya know? I didn't expect that, but didn't feel good about it either. Just left a bad taste for now......JMJ
Dayum that was fvcked up! Who would do such a thing? PM that fvcker's name so I know not to let him open for me.
What kinda DJ opens for someone and plays their re-mixes? J you should have had a few more up your sleeve. I know you're holdin' out on that heat.

What a teacher....
I got frustrated at first. Then figured out it's just like cutting with tape, except you don't have to record the repeats and it wa son.
I had to look at it as a document and all I am doing is cutting and pasting.I have my own way of using the program and took me 2 years to start using shortcuts, because I was so used to doing it my own way.

And as I usually bring hundreds of edits with me (seriously), it wasn't like I didn't have things to play. It was a minor issue that I'm going to prevent from being a major one in the future.

I've learned some things from Len also but have yet to use the software, still remixing with CD player and turntables.

His niche is remixing on Acid Pro, whereas I've mastered Soundforge, so it's more "apples and oranges" than doing the same thing. He's good at what he does and I get by.......JMJ [ November 30, 2005, 04:43 PM: Message edited by: JMJ ]

I love playing Edits. i play Bruce Jeffers & Tyrone Francis edits everytime i play out somewhere. these two are my JMJ's till someone else gives me some proper edits.
Im old school also i still do a lot of running songs and tracks back to back. like back in the day the live edit.
I got a new song from a producer friend of mine and it has no inst. must have played it for 15 to 20 min. just running it back to back bringing the vocals in and out.

I don't look at it the same way. Nobody's an idiot for playing what you gave them. It's just a matter of knowing when and when not to play that stuff, like maybe at a party that I'm not playing at? Again, no biggie, but made me think about the bigger picture.......JMJ

JMJ & Jamie 326 were given the basics of "How to use soundforge" by me. I did not teach anyone how to edit. Soundforge is a great asset - IF A DJ KNOWS HOW TO EDIT ALREADY. All soundforge does is eliminate Razor cuts on fingers, throwing away Analog Tape. It is a tool more than anything, a tool to make the DJ job easier.
The Concept of any edit comes from THAT DJ and I can not teach the creativity that is herd when JMJ & Jamies material is played. How they edit is all them, their own creation which came from with-in.
I can show anybody the ropes, it's on them to climb.
ACID 1.0 is my thang...I am THE ACID KING hand down.
I entered a edit in the edit contest and it did not make the final cut.
The Best Edit in My collection is the Sean Smith LRR colabo that he used in a DJ battle some years back. Between that BIG Freak edit & Emanules Badluck edit, that started the whole 2K MEGA EDITs (as I call them) thing.
JMJ's My First Mistake is not just an edit, it's a Mega Edit. I class a Mega Edit as one that make Dancers & DJ's alike say DAYMEEM!!!!!!!!!when ther hear it the first time.
As I said, I am The Acid King and the only DJ that ever worked one of my Acid jobs to the point that I couldnt believe that they were playing a piece of work that I did is Donna Edwards
Like JMJ said Apples & Oranges as of a contest - He is The Edit King I am The Acid King. [ November 30, 2005, 06:37 PM: Message edited by: LEONARD REMIX RROY ]
