awright let's kick it off...

I'll put up my list, with my reasons, in a few...I can tell you this, with his hot ass floor frenzy movers for this year, Dennis F has solidly(is that a word?lol) vaulted himself in the #2 slot!!! and all by himself with no help from his friend...lol!!!

who are yours...and please, give some solid explanation for your choices..."he's my boy" will not do...no ballwashing...and one hit wonders shouldn't even be considered...awright, maybe they should...also, give honorable mentions and who you think will be breaking out next year.

see my list and others from last year:

http://deephousepage.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=19;t=025246

I think I was right on target too with my honorable mentions on page 2....heehee.

Man,I really gotta think on this one Ray.I've been into some different shit and my tastes are rapidly changing.

Your list was spot on and all of those folks listed still put out some heat this year also.

Loved how you broke down the Sting cut too.You know ya shit man.

One cat I will say who has been goin crazy for the past 2 years...Franck Roger.

I'm really feeling this cat,but now I am also seeing him put his name on mixes of songs that really suck. It's just my opinion.

I'm one of those who would have rated Osunlade higher last year. This year i think he is top 3. Been a quality year for him. And GU should have been in the top 10 over Dj Gregory. JMO.

Quentin Harris is my number one pick. Profound and Prolific. He succesfully fazed in some elements of tech to his rythm sections this year with a lot of his tracks. Crazy was the remix of the year and every one took a shot at Jill Scott. He 's starting to get notice from the majors, ala his Mariah Carey remix and he's been killing the african sound with his work with Timmy. I mean really this guy has at least twenty records that I would play at any time all put out this year.

I agree that Frank Rodgers has been in a good zone for some time. I bet I've missed some of his best. Liked his "just a breath away" remix he did. Loved his first earthstramentals. But I have reservations. I liked earthstramentals 2 and 3 but felt like they were not nearly as hot as 1. But I always check his stuff when I see it, I can't think of any one else from europe that I'm doing that with right now.

I've felt a lot of Keven Yosts stuff this year. My favorite is that monster instrumental "ever after you" that record just fills your room up with sounds, AMAZING

Scott Woznack has done some really amazing stuff with r&b for awhile now. He is also in some kind of great zone. All the Kems, the Angie Stone, "Flight", Christina Aguilara. He has stepped up while dfa has felt a little burnt out this year

Loui Vega. Nothing of his really blew me away this year but he put out a lot, all of it solid and he succesfuly reinvented his sound. Gone are all and any traces of Circa da mi or Brand New Day.

Carl Craig for putting out techno that's demanding to be played. Suddenly he's like a house given.

Blaze was quitely right on point this year. "Keep Hope Alive" "Love Will" "Precious Love" and more. No surprises from Blaze but dead on with their beautiful sound.

Peven Everett for being more musical than any one this year. "Stuck" was a monster and he had to or three others right there.

Kerri Chandler had a real nice year. Was quite in the 04 was bangin the 05. Bar and Tymn alone secures his spot.

I'd have to put Spinna at number one for this year. He didn't do any remix I didn't like. Fertile Ground's "Live in the Light" was fantastic. Goadele's "Closer" has got to be the sleeper cut of the year. MAW put out some nice stuff and so did Blaze, but Spinna's remixes got me into buying new stuff again.

Whatever happened to Mousse T? His "Brother on the Run" remix was sick a few years ago.

I felt like those were from 04, which is why I didn't include Spinna. I agree though. Closer will never grow old.

(Believe Me when I tell you it was tough!!!!!)

1. Quentin Harris - Production has been tight and consistent. when you here a track he's done you immediately say "That's Quentin!" [applause]

2. Dennis Ferrer - Ahh. . this was tough between him and Quentin. He's very versatile, he can flip from soulful, to Afrobeat, to a deep techy sound. . . keep bangin em out!

3. Franck Roger - Dude has been pumpin out some heat for a good minute. His Earthumental projects have seen much play on my tables.

4. Carl Craig - His last remixing of Theo parrish's "falling Up" just edged out to be 4th on here. His techy sound has really caught my attention. . dark, hypnotic, violent, makes me wanna just run around the club smaking people just because the music tells me to! [pimpslap]

5. Kerri Chandler - Bar a thym, six pianos, the acid track on large records. . . you can never go wrong with a chandler track.

6. Osunlade - Osunlade has been putting down his afro influences on us for a minute, when "El MUsica" Dropped, homey had my vote for top 10 producers.

7. Louie Vega - the "Composer", Definietly bringin some new vibes, what he did for theivery corporation's "heart is a lonely hunter" was pretty special. (needs to get back with Kenny though and start bringin that fire back to NY.)

8. Antonio Ocasio - Man, I don't care what anyone says, this guys production is dependable. You can't walk out the shop without one of his jams.

9. Joe Claussell - His tracks have been extremely hard to get and pricey when you find them [mad] , which made me rank him so low. His sound is one of a kind, His "Unchained Rhythms" EP's were straight heat (if you were able to find them).

10. DJ Gregory - Been consistent for some time. Another dependable producer.

Honorable Mentions:
Blaze
Sole Channel Camp
Fanatix
Jeremias Santiago
Jerome Synedham
Romadaal
