Ahh man...necessary deepness & dopeness!!
I thought I was the only one who knew anything of this record...Never heard a soul play or mention this tune anywhere. This is one of them records I don't even dance to, I just sit, close my eyes, listen and allow it to take me on a journey to a far away place with the most beautiful images of land and people...
Boyd Jarvis sings it in the most perfect manner!! "Bring it back to the mother land..." Great pick! ![[thumbsup]](graemlins/thumbsup.gif)

Try it with Dizzie Gillespie's Kush as the intro...
Dizzie's voice "The Title of this one is called... KUSSSSSSSSSSSSSH!!!!" LOL
Just cause no one talks about stuff, doesn't mean no one know about it....
From a mix CD called "Dizzie Set's it Off"
Track 1: 01 - Dizzie Gillespie - Kush.rmj The download link is: Dizzie's intro of Kush
track 2: 02 - Boyd Jarvis - Kush.rmj Size: 7MB The download link is: Boyd's Kush [ December 29, 2006, 10:07 AM: Message edited by: TAC ]

TAC holy shit thank you....
You will not believe this..
I was about to drop/record a new mix CD tonite entitled "Mama Afrika, vol.3". Then I heard your rmj file and my jaw dropped when Dizzie says "Mama Afrika".
Shit man. Thank you. I will no doubt start off my mix in this fashion unless of course....LOL
Man, I have no rights to the music. Glad to help people on the continual search for interesting music.
Btw, jazz musicians always converse or make commentary during their performances (particualarly when performing live). They are a b*tch to find, however, because one needs to purcahse their CD's or hear them played to know it exists. There's some gems to be had if you can find it.
Other CD's to check out for some interesting ad lib.
Clark Terry
CD: "Having Fun; Mumbles" (check the last 1:06) Hilarious.
Rashaan Roland Kirk CD" "Bright Moment; Introduction" (Check out the intro on CD 1; Actually, checking the CD ton's of stuff... also check out Clickty Clack on CD 1; Check out Bright Moments on CD2 (3 minutes of talking sh*t))
My most recent find....
Don Cherry "Multikulti Soothsayer; Multikulti Soothsayer" I'm proud of myself. It took me a couple of years to locate this one. Shannon and everyone here on the PEE PEE caused me to break down and spend the bucks ($100). Yup, putting that dollar figure out there cause that sh*t is noteworthy. I was complaining about $46 dollars at first, but by the time I broke down I could only find it for 53 pound sterling. Of course, right after I order t, I find it for $25 (US).
Anyway, if anyone wants any of the above that I've listed, I'll be glad to share. Just shoot me a PM. However, they will only be in iTune format cause that's what's most easy for me right now.
Peace TAC
