I've heard the iPhone is not good for typing text. Mainly because of the on-screen typing feature.

I held one. A guy came up and showed me his at a job I did Saturday night. It is definately some "minority report" type next levelness. At least from a quick impression. I hear the texing is very smart and the phone bill is less than blackberry.

So how often do you have to recharge the iPhone after regular use verses excessive use from being on the net looking at a million youtube videos?
Also how long does the batteries last before it finally dies out, do you have to get a new battery or the cost of a replacement battery the same as buying a new iPhone?

played with my friend's phone yesterday and it is DOPE!! a must have if you can spare the change...
typing text is a little awkward if you got fat fingers but it fixes your typos so smartly it doesn't seem to matter.
and apparently once you buy one, you connect to itunes which will then switch your number over to att and set up your new account automatically...
i'm crunching some numbers and maybe heading to the apple store at lunch... ![[mwink]](graemlins/mwink.gif)

I dropped my Ipod a few weeks back; not even that hard. It busted the screen and now you can barely see half of it and difficult to move and select music. It's a fucking peice of shit if you ask me. Very shitty technology. Not meant to last long.

The battery is meant to last thru 5 hours of video, 16 hours of music, and 10 days of standby, which is why the battery is immovable.

Actually, those stats have been improved:
It's actually 8 hours of talk time, 6 hours of Internet use, 7 hours of video playback or 24 hours of audio playback. In addition, iPhone will feature up to 250 hours—more than 10 days—of standby time.

i guess i should have been a little more specific. i was talking about from a support standpoint. if the device fails to power on or you have what you think would be a battery issue, you can't just go down to your local Mac store and pick up a new battery. i was around when Palm released their Treo 600, which also had an embedded battery, and it was such a HUGE issue for customers to fathom that they couldn't just replace their battery if they knew that was the problem or to at least find out if it was. i would think that Apple would have had designed it with the ability to swap out batteries or replace them if there ever was a power issue. ![[acclaim]](graemlins/acclaim.gif) [ July 03, 2007, 05:18 PM: Message edited by: RBB ]
